Architects and designers from different backgrounds collaborate with Gervasoni to create collections that stretch broadly into the world of indoor furnishings. The 2022 collection was born for telling the story of products designed by diverse hands that give life to worlds of living that only appear to be distant, but in reality, are able to coexist and dialogue with each other. An incessant research aimed at proposing the most suitable solutions for a contemporary comfort, leads the company to experiment newer ways to give shape to its domestic universe, defined by the care for details and by the innovative workmanship that become an expressive tool.
A harmonious equilibrium between parts takes form, without any predominant elements, a continuous balancing of forces in which the various products interact and complement each other. Natural and technical materials, juxtapositions of soft and hard, contrasting materials and aesthetics in a dynamic, contemporary story to expand the company’s potential and define its new vision. Timeless products meet contemporary, innovative furnishings, producing harmonious places where ever new sensations are created. The idea behind the collection is based on the perception of those who live in a given space at a given time: as in the philosophy of Heraclitus, everything is constantly changing in a continuous alternation of opposites, subject to the inexorable law of change, in which every feeling of an individual in the same place is changed by the passage of time.
The new indoor collections are presented at the Salone del Mobile through an installation curated by the architect Ferruccio Laviani. The space, conceived as a simple modernist architecture, reflects in the finishes Gervasoni’s eclectic way of conceiving the new products: a combination of different materials ranging from the flooring with the natural touch of the Cromie line made by the company La Pietra Compattata, to the screens in material mesh by Naturtex that mark the various exhibition areas without ever obstructing the view, creating ‘light’ filters between one environment and another. A free and open view of the stand, to make visitors comprehend the entirety of the set-up whether they are inside or outside the space. A further material touch is given by the three main partitions of the stand covered with Gamperana Triplex wood by Alpi. Finally, to accentuate the spirit of overlapping of materials, colours and shapes, two pillars further divide the environments, while keeping alive the ideal lightness of the non-barrier barriers that characterise the stand.
To welcome visitors, large living areas express and enclose the new 2022 indoor products as well as the iconic products of Gervasoni. In the first living area, the protagonist is the new Saia upholstered furniture collection by David Lopez Quincoces, with sofas upholstered in linen in shades of blue with contrasting piping and armchairs upholstered with a new Beige ribbed velvet with tone-on-tone piping to highlight its soft shape. The area is completed by the new Heiko coffee tables also by David Lopez Quincoces: a Japanese term that means balance, stability, Heiko evokes the shape of the tables, defined by rounded lines, with a rounded base that seems to float on the surfaces.
Next to it, another living area defined by fabrics in light colours and shades of white, tells the story of the products belonging to the Loll collection. The attention is captured by the Loll modular sofa by Paola Navone with white bouclè upholstery combined with brightly coloured cushions, a proposal that contains an idea of contemporary comfort, made special by the attention to detail, the quality of the materials and the uniqueness of the craftsmanship. To complete the space, the Gray coffee tables by Paola Navone, characterised by a vintage soul and contemporary design that mixes the austere elegance of classic furnishings with the simplicity of Nordic shapes. The pendant lamps of the Brass and Silver collection embellish the interiors with reflections of light, and finally, the new Guna rugs by Chiara Andreatti in the Natural version decorate the floor.
Central to the stand, two minimal and elegant dining areas, separated by a wall, contain the new products of two other designers: Federico Peri with the Daen family composed of tables and sideboards, and Federica Biasi with the Yelek chairs.
The first area features the Daen table in the version with a round top in blue glass, surrounded by Saia chairs by David Lopez Quincoces with the new light beige fabric and tone-on-tone piping. The second dining area is instead furnished by the version of the Daen table with oval top, presented with the top in camel stoneware and glass and legs in the same colour, but with contrasting blue steel crossbar. In the same colours also the two Daen sideboards, to keep alive the dynamic dialogue between the two furnishings of the same collection.
Two other living areas dedicated to the Gervasoni flagship collections await visitors at the back of the stand. The first, intended entirely for the Loll collection in shades of white and beige, contains several products: from the Loll 16 sofas in brown cloth and Loll 12 in light beige ribbed velvet, to the Loll 07 armchairs with compact volumes covered with the characteristic Polar Bear fabric, up to the Loll 29 pouf in dark beige cloth, a series of accessories that reveal the soul of the collection, enveloping like a nest and defined by upholstered furniture that invites relaxation. The second living area features the Ghost and Gray collections, both by Paola Navone. The area is completed by the new Brise outdoor round tables by Federica Biasi with cylinder base and removable millgres top in white and red. Finally, the Spin lamps, floor lamps with sinuous lines that recall the enveloping shape of a nest, harmonise with the new Eco rugs by Elena Sanguankeo in the Natural and White colours.
A last dining area completes the set-up of the stand, in which the Gray 38 table with central leg in white stoneware and top in white Carrara marble, defined by a perfect balance between different materials, for a proposal with a transformative spirit, is combined with the Gray 22 chairs with grey structure, whose peculiarity lies in the backrest upholstered in beige Tweed and wrapped in the wooden structure. The area is completed by a black Sweet 95 pendant lamp, in which the craftsmanship of ancient tradition is combined with contemporary materials.
The last space is defined by the Nuvola 05 armchairs with graphite quilt fabric, with soft and enveloping shapes and a structure that embraces the seat, the Moon coffee table with blue base and dark top in polished cast aluminium, characterised by a bold combination of materials, and the Gray rocking chairs with black structure, whose distinctive sign is the pleasant contrast between the essential structure and the softness of the loose cushions covered in the new brick-coloured thick-ribbed fabric.
