A glossy white sheet that resembles paper in appearance but surprises to the touch: thin and ultra-light, yet incredibly strong. This is Tyvek® - a synthetic material made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), spun and heat-sealed.
Its texture, reminiscent of crumpled paper, enhances its apparent visual fragility, highlighting by contrast the material’s actual strength. An effect that finds its highest expression in the Ripple lamps: designed to gently illuminate outdoor spaces, they captivate with their essential yet evocative aesthetic.
RIPPLE
Design Renè Barba
Romantic and lightweight: the Ripple outdoor lamps, designed by Renè Barba for Gervasoni, embody an essential design, elegant in its simplicity. Presented among the Outdoor novelties at Salone del Mobile 2025, the defining feature of the Ripple collection is Tyvek® - a result of the material refinement that Gervasoni pursues in every project. It also reflects the meticulousness of its designer, committed to creating a lamp that is light, minimal, and durable.
With the Ripple collection, Gervasoni and Renè Barba present a project that combines poetry and functionality, where design merges with material innovation to offer a new concept of outdoor lighting.
The Ripple 193 pendant lamp floats from above like a cloud - white and ethereal, yet rebellious, thanks to the irregular texture of its material. The conical lampshade frames the light, casting playful shadows through its dual openings at the top and bottom.
The Ripple 195 floor lamp is designed to bring a romantic atmosphere to outdoor spaces. With its cylindrical shape, it diffuses light through the white, crinkled-effect fabric. Its defining feature is portability, made possible by a slim handle at the top that allows for easy movement.
