Experimentation has always been one of the cornerstones of Gervasoni’s creative process.
An attitude that manifests itself above all in the continuous search for new materials, capable of speaking different design languages. Aluminum is one of Gervasoni’s signature material languages: light, resistant, durable and sustainable, this metal embodies a refined balance between technology and material poetry.
Three projects from the Gervasoni catalogue interpret aluminum in distinct ways: Kira by Marta Giardini, Moon by Paola Navone, and the Allu collection, also designed by Paola Navone. Through different styles and forms, these three pieces express the brand’s focus on material sophistication combined with a constant drive for innovation.
KIRA
Design Marta Giardini
Designed by Marta Giardini, Kira is a cast-aluminum side table that plays with solids and voids, weight and light. Its name comes from the Japanese word kirakira, meaning “sparkling,” a reference to the material’s shimmering quality. Clean lines and precise geometries - a cubic base and a square top with rounded corners - create a balanced dialogue between solidity and visual lightness.
Presented among the new products at Salone del Mobile 2025, this industrial-spirited side table adapts to different needs thanks to its three size variations, making it a versatile piece within any living area. The two finishes, Gold and Chrome, enhance its luminous character, turning every reflection into a vibrant play of light.
MOON
Design Paola Navone
From the Moon collection, designed by Paola Navone, comes a family of tables that blends seemingly distant materials into a single harmonious gesture. The base - a large blue ceramic amphora with an irregular texture achieved through a special hand-applied finish - supports a round top in cast aluminum.
In the contrast between the material density of the ceramic and the metallic sheen of the aluminum, the Moon table finds its poetic identity: an encounter of volumes and colours that renews the dialogue between craftsmanship and refined materials.
The contrast between the metal’s sheen and the tactile richness of the weaving creates a harmonious balance between craftsmanship and design research - an expression typical of Gervasoni’s language. Allu thus reveals a contemporary chair, luminous and timeless, where material experimentation is distilled into a simple yet poetic formal gesture.
ALLU
Design Paola Navone
In the Allu chair, Paola Navone entrusts aluminum with the task of expressing a new kind of lightness. Its structure, shaped through slender profiles and clean lines, treats the metal as a graphic stroke that becomes a frame - enhancing the material interplay of the hand-woven weave in natural or grey parchment.
